Our wild berries are hand-gathered in the lush woodlands of the Serbia Mountains. We consider wild berries to be the best of the best. Wild berries are free of harmful pesticide sprays, significantly greater in antioxidant levels and possess wonderful distinct flavors unique to only wild berries. 

Our Wild Delights Organic Berries is a scrumptious and healthy blend of the best wild berries that are hand-gathered from the lush woodlands of the Serbia Mountains. Each berry is immediately flash frozen on harvest day to lock in the full nutritional spectrum, flavor and aroma. Variety is key to a healthy diet, and with three different wild berries in one bag, variety doesn’t get much easier or tastier than this! These unique wild berries will certainly evoke memories of long summer days and sweet summer nights. 

Raspberries. You'll find wild raspberries across most of the Serbia.. Look for those on the edge of forests, where trees meet grass. They bloom in late spring and produce berries in summer. Try and keep an eye out for the red berries as you're hiking, they're mostly a berry of opportunity. Leave the white ones alone and pull the ones that are a nice, deep red.

Strawberries. You know what a strawberry looks and tastes like; wild varieties are smaller and tastier. They grow across the Serbia. If you find a wild one, eat it. They peak in early spring, just after the snow melts and you can spot them from afar by their white flower growing low to the ground. Wild strawberries are much smaller than traditionally cultivated strawberries but don’t let that fool you. They have much more flavor and are far sweeter. Our strawberries are hand harvested wild each European Summer, then same day individually flash frozen to lock in all their delicious taste, aroma and nutritional value. 

Blackberries. Found across the Serbia, picking blackberries is a ritual for children each summer, picking their way through the spiky bramble to collect ripe fruit. You'll know its ripe when it's a nice, even black. Red or white fruits will be sour and gross. Great fresh, or covered with milk and honey. Our frozen wild blackberries have tiny seeds unnoticeable compared to other blackberries. These are not the wild blackberries that grow on tall bushes in your backyard. The tart, intense flavor and small size of this native wild blackberry makes it perfect for classic Northwest desserts and preserves. The scientific name given to little wild mountain blackberries is Rubus Ursinus.

Blueberries. You'll find wild blueberries across Serbia. They grow on low bushes that spread across the ground in sort of a carpet. I like to eat them straight off that bush, just crawling around in the woods, popping them in my mouth as I find them. If you're less greedy, gather them up and put them in your pancakes. They'll be dark blue, with a white, dusty "frosting" of wax on the outside and ripe flesh is a pale green. They're best from May to August, depending on elevation and climate.

WILD BLACKBERRIES. Being rich in antioxidants, wild blackberries help the body in fighting free radicals and thus, avoid various types of cancer, especially breast and cervical cancer. Yet another benefit that arises from the antioxidants in wild blackberries comprises of protection against chronic disease. The high tannin content, and the resultant antiseptic and astringent properties, of wild blackberries makes them good for tightening tissues as well as treating minor bleeding. Consumption of wild blackberries has been found to be beneficial for those suffering from diarrhea and intestinal inflammation. Wild blackberries are known to contain salicylate, an analgesic or pain reliever, which might help lower the risk of heart diseases. Regular consumption of wild blackberries can help strengthen the blood vessels in your body. Wild blackberries serve as a great source of ellagic acid, which is known to have antiviral properties. The high fiber content in wild blackberries helps maintain digestive health, control blood sugar, lose weight and lower cholesterol levels. The flavonoids present in wild blackberries promote vision health, by preventing macular degeneration.

Wild Blueberries are very low in calories. 100 g fresh berries carry just 57 calories. Nonetheless, they possess essential health benefiting phytonutrients such as soluble dietary fiber, minerals, vitamins, and pigment antioxidants that contribute immensely towards optimum health and wellness. Blueberries are among the highest antioxidant value fruits. Their antioxidant value mostly comes from poly-phenolic anthocyanidin compounds such as chlorogenic acid, tannins, myricetin, quercetin, and kaempferol. Altogether, the phytochemical compounds in the blueberry help rid off harmful oxygen-derived free radicals from the human body, and thereby, protect it against cancers, aging, degenerative diseases, and infections. Further, research studies suggest that chlorogenic acid in these berries help lower blood sugar levels and control blood-glucose levels in type-II diabetes mellitus condition. Fresh berries carry small amount of vitamin-C, vitamin-A, and vitamin-E. Altogether, these vitamins work as potent antioxidants which help limit free radical mediated injury to the body. The berries also carry a small amount of B-complex group of vitamins such as niacin, pyridoxine, folates, and pantothenic acid.
